The Big Black Whale

I wish I were an oversize, blue whale
Out in the vast royal sea.
He blows like a hose
Through the top of his nose,
As jolly as a whale can be,
And the sailors look pale
When they hear his tail
Go bang, bang, bang,
On a humongous wave’s back
Out in the vast blue-gray sea.

Original poem by James K. Baxter
