Term 2 - Back from Home, and I'm looking forward to?!

Term 1, P.E finished with a special assembly. Pt England's principal Mr Burt, would always tell us about his friend " Collin ". The three R's, Road, Rail and River. How to keep safe! His word's were, 1 - Stay safe joining the Holidays, 2 - Don't play on the road or you might get squashed or flattened by a car, ( this is when his friend " Collin " comes into play ) 3 - His friend was almost close to dying. ( I don't wanna write the whole story because I gotta get the other part finished, what I'm looking forward to ). 

Anyways the holidays are done, and now it's time for Term 2. I'm obviously looking forward to rugby union for the school. It's gonna be 1 hell of a ride with the boys. 

Our Immersion Assembly brought back memory's. Mr Blakey, he told us stories. But he left in term 1, It was nice to hear Mr Blakey tell us one more story. 2k17 Staring ❯  Now That's Thinking!    ❮     

2017 Polyfest

Thursday the 16th of March. Team 5 gathered around to travel on a bus, to Manukau, for the 2017 Polyfest. It was about a, 10 - 17 minute ride. We hopped off at gate 3, noticing that we were too early, to begin our tour. So we waited!! We heard some school waiata’s, that was being performed at the Te reo Maori stage.

It was time to being our tour. Walking and learning about, keeping firewise. In the kitchen, if there was a pot. That was lit on fire! We were told not to mix, water with fire. As they do not go well together. We were also told, if there was a fire on a pot. Put some soaking wet tea towels.                

As the day went on. So did the performances. Team 5 was put into individual groups, by Classes because normally we're one big unit. So... It was cool & intensive to watch the girls put, effort, leadership, and commitment towards their culture. The music would be so loud, ear plugs would be needed to block the sound.           

I think the favourite part I had, was??? Eating watermelon which was stacked with Ice cream on top, plus getting free glasses and a visor hat ( tennis hats ), And a Chinaman's hat.

The whole of Pt England school, including staff members, was very fortunate to Minstrel and his lovely wife about Fishing for our future ( the famous Hiwi the Kiwi ). He was always talking about how to capture your own dreams to make them come true, “nothing impossible” is what he  said to all of us. What he said, made me believe in myself. Hearing hundreds of super stars say that “ a great dream always come true”.. We got to sing songs, listen to stories and some of the students who won posters, stickers and other prizes.  Thank you Hiwi the Kiwi for visiting our school today !!

Narrative Fiji sevens

As I held my medal in my hand smiling for the picture that was about to be taken. A successful & outstanding achievement. For what my team has achieve for our families & country. The friendship with my team was amazing our start to the end with each other… But it wasn’t the end YET!! The last team that we vus was extremely harder than we thought they were. Their technique was on point as if they were like new outstanding technology… None of us was even sure if they were that right team. Fast like flash. The coach said to us, the international Fijian team, "Can you hear that crowd going wild like headless chickens?" It was a metaphor to congratulate the victorious team. It was our final game for the Olympics. Fiji's vus is Great Britain. Our past game against Argentina was intense. Every second and minute, we feared of losing the semis which would rip us off finals. We gave it more than 100 %, but we were more vicious & hunger than they were.. We knew it from the start that we would make it this far. But we didn’t want to be too confident. Coming so far why would we stop now?!!.. Both teams jogged on to the field with the crowd surrounding and cheering them on. We sang the national The siren buzzer went off starting the game.

Centuries ago their was a Village called Olympia… That was the first time in history of the year 1886 they had Olympics back then pregnant woman or married womans wasn’t allowed to participate or watch men in the  ancient Olympics also their completed in the nude. There was also only two sports that their could participate in. But now it’s the 21st century everything is demeanor. People only have one chance to prove the world that their one of the best in the world they only have 4 years to train the 5th year that’s when their gain respect..

In the year of 2016 there are 3 teachers battling it out for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place their telegrapher Miss Tela the pack of the TEAM 5….. 1st up Miss Berry competing proudly for her country “AUSTRALIA” she’s asked “ What makes you think that you have a shot to take 1st place”. She says ( Because I have been focused on this for a very long time) she proudly says her chant ( Oz Oz Oz ) but their is no one there for her how disappointing is that.. Her attitude demeanor right on the spot. She starts her dance ohh what a spin by miss Berry ohh no she didn’t she does a cartwheel that was quite a dance Judges what do you think of that dance Ooo low scores 4 & a 3 that will be easy to beat…. Now for Miss Clark Miss Clark is asked the same thing “ What makes you think that you have a shot to take 1st place”, I think I have a great opportunity to win this also no one is good like me soo…. Woow how cocky can she be

Now for the 1st and last time representing the US  MISS CLARK the crowd goes  “WILD” .  it’s finally time for her chart right now ( USA, USA, USA, USA ) everyone is chanting for her USA USA USA USA… Oh that's cold look at Miss Berry's face she looks more than angry I think she’s jealous. Miss Clark’s dance will be hard to top look at her moves she's on fleek today just look like that she was built for this….. Back flip, front flip & finishes off with a cart wheel. Judges what do you think of that really awesome dance. Ohh I wasn’t expecting that but i think it will be hard… 7 & 8 that will be hard it will if Mr Wise Man pulls a miracle to beat that score.

Supporting the NEW ZEALAND side Mr Wise man... He smiles what brilliant white teeth. That goes show KIWIS look after their body. The crowd is one firer clapping and singing KIWIS at the same time I would be proud if I was him.. Again he is asked “ What makes you think that you have a shot to take place” Well I have done a lot of exercise, running & I will become a super to my little girl at NEW ZEAL A.. He dances well side flip, front flip, back flip and finishes off with the splits… He should be huffing & puffing the judges give him a 10 10 & a 10 OMG!!! He has fainted the paramedicals is comes onto the stage & their say that he is disqualified because he has been taking DRUGS his eyes are red & numed… That means MISS CLARK IS THE WINNER!!! I’m really sure that his country might be pretty embarrassed after what happen right now………. The judges are mad because they're from NEW ZEALAND

It is time to get creative! For this bonus activity you are asked to design a simple logo for the next Summer Olympic Games. They will be held in Tokyo, Japan in 2020. The Olympic committee in Japan has already created four possible options for the logo (see below) but I think that you can create something even more interesting and attractive! To create a logo I would suggest that you use the Design Mantic website. Click on the Design Mantic link. It will bring you to the homepage for the site. Enter ‘Tokyo 2020’ into the ‘Company Name’ box and select ‘Sport & Fitness’ from the drop down menu in the  ‘Industry’ box. From there you can create your own logo. When your logo is finished, copy and paste it onto your blog along with a short explanation of your design.

Ancient Olympics

In 1894, a man named Pierre de Coubertin decided that it was time to reintroduce the Olympic Games to the world. He started a committee called the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The IOC held the first modern day Olympic Games in Athens, Greece in 1896. Four years later the IOC held a second Summer Olympic Games in Paris, France and four years after that, another summer games in St. Louis, Missouri, United States of America. This year the Summer Olympics will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Olympic Games will be held from 5 to 21 August 2016. Each time that a city hosts a Summer Olympic Games they are asked to create their own unique mascot and logo. Here are the mascots from the Summer Olympics in London, England (2012) and in Sydney, Australia (2000).

Ancient Days

Back in the ancient days when their have Olympics instead of a gold medal, the winner had a palm leaf placed in their hands and a crown placed on their head to show that they were the winner. A man named Milo was called a winner because of the crown on his head...During the ancient Olympic Games, men were allowed to compete in the events but women were not. In fact, women were often forbidden from even watching the games. To be honest Married women were not allowed to participate in, or to watch, the ancient Olympic Games. However, unmarried women could attend the competition, and the priestess of Demeter, goddess of fertility, was given a privileged position next to the Stadium altar so that means Married women were not allowed to participate in, or to watch, the ancient Olympic Games, but unmarried woman are
